How to Select Electro-hydraulic control Valve
1. Confirm working parameters
Check the rated flow, rated pressure and pressure drop. Match the valve flow with the actual required flow of hydraulic actuators (cylinders, motors). The valve rated pressure shall be higher than the maximum system working pressure, and keep a safety margin.
2. Control mode selection
Choose electro-hydraulic proportional control or on-off electric control. Proportional type can realize stepless speed regulation, suitable for working conditions requiring smooth action and precise position control. On-off type is for simple start-stop action with lower cost.
3. Spool function
Select proper spool type according to the working loop requirements, such as open center, closed center, float position, regenerative circuit function, etc. It determines the oil circuit state when the spool is in neutral position.
4. Number of sections
Calculate the quantity of independent action channels. Each section controls one executive component. Reserve 1~2 extra valve sections for future function expansion if needed.
5. Power & signal specification
Confirm solenoid voltage (DC12V / DC24V is common for mobile machinery). Check signal type: 0-5V, 0-10V or 4-20mA analog signal for proportional valves. Match with your controller output.
6. Environment & protection grade
For outdoor, construction machinery and lifting equipment, select valves with high IP protection rating, anti-vibration and wide temperature range. For dusty or humid sites, corrosion-resistant treatment is required.
7. Safety features
Optional built-in pressure relief valve, load holding check valve, anti-cavitation function. These protect hydraulic cylinders from overload and prevent load dropping.
8. Installation & medium compatibility
Check mounting dimension, port size and oil port layout. Ensure compatibility with hydraulic oil type (mineral oil, biodegradable oil etc.). Confirm filtration requirement to protect valve internal parts.
