How to Select Power Unit for Elevator
1. Confirm elevator load and speed
Calculate the rated load capacity and rated speed of the home elevator. The power unit output torque and flow must match the requirement to lift the full load smoothly. Keep a reasonable safety margin.
2. Check lifting height
The total lifting height affects the system pressure and oil volume demand. Higher travel needs larger oil tank and higher pressure reserve.
3. Motor power and voltage
Most home elevator power units use single-phase 220V AC motor, which is convenient for household power supply. For heavier load or high lifting speed, three-phase power can be considered. Select proper motor power according to calculation.
4. Hydraulic pump type
Gear pumps are widely used for home elevators due to low cost and stable performance. Piston pumps are for higher pressure and quieter operation but with higher price.
5. Noise level
Since it is installed in residential space, low noise is critical. Choose low-noise motor and pump assembly, with sound insulation design if necessary.
6. Safety functions
Verify key safety configurations: emergency lowering valve, pressure relief valve, overload protection, check valve to prevent free fall, and manual lowering function in case of power failure.
7. Control matching
Match with your elevator control system. Confirm solenoid voltage, valve type (on-off or proportional) and interface compatibility.
8. Oil tank size and heat dissipation
Select tank volume enough for oil circulation. For frequent use, good heat dissipation structure is required to avoid overheating of hydraulic oil.
9. Installation dimension
Check overall size of the power unit. It needs to fit the reserved machine room or cabinet space of home elevator.
10. Environment and maintenance
Consider ambient temperature and ventilation. Choose power units with easy access for oil replacement and routine maintenance
